Reconnect pool equipment After raising the water level back up to proper height, equipment such as filter, pump, heater, and other water-conditioning gear needs to be reconnected and checked. Above-ground pools need the flexible plumbing lines and skimmer reconnected.
Switch plugs Winterizing plugs need to be removed from all equipment and lines and replaced with regular drain plugs once the antifreeze has been drained.
Restart pool system All subsystems including pump, filtration, and circulation systems need to be turned on and air bled from the system.

Final cleaning Once the water is adjusted, a final cleaning to remove any remaining debris is performed and the filtration system run to take care of any dirt, algae, and bacteria.
